PADI Open Water Referral
Thinking of getting certified for an upcoming holiday, but don't have the time to put into a regular diver course, or maybe just don't fancy the colder UK climate, then this course may be for you.
The PADI Open Water Referral program is perfect for holiday makers who don't want to spend half their holiday in a classroom or sitting on the bottom of a pool as most of the hard work will be done here in the UK, where you have all the time you need to perfect your knowledge development and skills.
Theory
Included in the course price you will be given a copy of the open water diver manual and RDP (Recreational Dive Planner) which will provide you with everything you need to know to begin your adventure.You will also be given a DVD to watch at your leisure to re-enforce the manual and be able to see the skills performed as you will be doing them in the pool.The DVD will be returned at the end of the course.
Swimming Pool
This is your chance to put the theory into practice and actually go diving.All of our training is done in deep
swimming pools so that you will have the actual sensation of diving in deeper waters which simulates diving
conditions more acurately than training which is done in shallow 2 metre pools.
All of the skills will be performed by your Instructor who will teach you the best methods of performing the skills
and help you to complete the skills at your own pace.The course is not time restrictive and you can take as long
as you need to complete the skills even if this means coming back for further sessions, all of which is included
in the cost of the course.
What Next?
After you have completed your knowledge development and pool skills you will be given a log book and referral
card in which we will record your progress and confirm your completion of that portion of the open water course.
You will then have 12 months to complete the 4 open water dives.These open water dives can be completed at any PADI dive centre or resort of your choice while on holiday, and because PADI is the largest diver training organisation in the world, you will be able to fine a PADI centre at just about every recognised dive destination.
Once you have completed the open water element of the course you will be a PADI Open Water Diver, certified to dive independently with a buddy anywhere in the world to 18 metres.The fees for the open water dives vary depending on location and are payable to the dive resort with which you enrol with.
